My

third

folk

music

inspired

piece...

Inspired

by

Celtic

music

and
traditional

Norwegian

music.
The

trilogy

consisting

of

"A

Voyage",

"Mechanical

Forest

II"

and
"Sleepless

Valley",

has

much

in

common

both

in

styles,

sources

of
inspiration

and

also

samples.

They

are

built

much

in

the

same

way,

but
still

each

of

them

has

elements

that

the

others

don't

have.
The

intro

chord

progression

was

inspired

by

an

old

unfinished

work

song

by
me.

The

main

melody

came

to

me

so

easily

that

I

almost

feared

that

I

had
ripped

it

unconsciously,

but

at

the

end

it

seems

that

I

simply

had

a

lot
of

inspiration

when

I

wrote

it

=)
Unlike

in

"A

Voyage"

and

"Mechanical

Forest

II"

I

put

heavy

vibrato

on

the
flute

to

make

it

sound

more

Celtic

in

this

song.

I

also

used

the

Exx
command

to

make

that

"falling

down

and

fading

away"

effect.
The

accordion

samples

are

a

bit

noisy,

something

that

can

be

explained

by
the

fact

that

I

sampled

_SK's

mini

accordion

myself

using

one

of

those
standard

PC

mics

=)
In

this

song

I

tried

to

get

the

drums

as

minimalistic

as

possible.

I

think
this

makes

the

song

kinda

nice

;)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I

started

this

song

back

in

September,

and

I

finished

it

sometime

within
September/October.

The

reason

I

didn't

release

it

until

now

is

that

I

at
one

point

was

thinking

of

making

more

out

of

it.

Anyways,

because

I

have
been

busy

playing

around

with

sequencing

I

never

got

the

time

to

do

that,
and

I

never

had

the

inspiration

either.

Now

it's

maybe

4

months

or

so

since

this

song

was

finished,

and

it
wasn't

until

now

I

listened

to

it

and

thought

"wow,

this

song

is

finished,
this

is

how

I

want

it

to

be".

So

now

it's

time

to

get

it

uploaded

;)

After

this

song

was

finised

I

have

finished

one

more

tracker

song
(The

City

in

The

Ice

Caves),

and

I

will

soon

release

around

4

sequenced
songs

in

MP3

format.

The

sequenced

songs

include

a

Synth

Pop

song

(Made
using

my

Yamaha

CS2x),

an

Arabic

inspired

experimental

song

(made

using

my
CS2x),

one

Jazzy/Poppy/Rocky

song

(made

using

my

CS2x)

and

one

80's

Synth
Pop

thingy

made

to

try

out

my

new

Roland

D-110...
I

hope

some

of

you

enjoy

this

song

and

that

you

will

also

listen

to

my
new

stuff

when

it

is

released

(even

if

the

MP3

format

means

bigger

files)
=)
